During my pregnancy, I’ve been craving coconut - the real stuff! Coconut milk, water, meat, and oil. Coconuts are highly nutritious, rich in fiber, and packed with essential vitamins and minerals. It supports the immune system, protects skin from sun exposure, and it’s a great source of fuel for the body by balancing blood sugar and so many other wonderful benefits.
A few weeks ago, my coconut cravings led me to create this rich and creamy breakfast that has become my new fav! Packed with protein and healthy fats, it will keep you satisfied for hours. The best part is how quick it takes to prep the night before and it’s waiting for you the next morning. Perfect for those busy, on-the-go mornings.
Give it a try and let me know what you think!
My personal guide to maintaining a healthy body and mind during pregnancy
My whole life I’ve been active, so my pregnancy wouldn’t be any different.
As many of you already know, we’re expecting our second baby early August. I love being pregnant! It’s a brief time in my life and I cherish the experience of growing a new life.
I’ve been getting numerous requests to write more about my pregnancy experience, along with tips and health advice. I’ve resisted slightly to this point knowing not everyone in this community is pregnant.
However, in the interest of providing value, I wanted to shed light on things I have incorporated throughout my two pregnancies that have made both experiences a treasure and a time I feel most connected to myself.
There are so many things that I’ve learned between my first pregnancy and my second, all of which have been incredibly helpful for me. Some of this knowledge has come easily, and some of it has taken a lot of research.
I have lots of info to share from my favorite workouts, supplements I take and the foods I eat. First I thought it would be fun to give you a little insight into what I’ve been eating!
My Healthy Pregnancy Diet
Overall, I stuck with the same diet that I had before pregnancy, full of nutrient-dense foods. This may surprise some, but I haven’t had roller-coaster cravings during either pregnancy. There are theories that cravings represent some nutrients that the mother may be lacking — and the “crave” is the body’s way of asking for what it needs. Getting a balance of protein, carbs, and healthy fats along with micronutrients from food and supplements are critical for your baby’s well-being and development.
Balancing your macros is key!
