4 Reasons Why You Can't Lose Weight (And Why It Could Be Genetic)

reasons why you can't lose weight genetic
Do you feel like you’re trying everything right, but your weight still won't budge? Or it's going up?

Desperate attempts to lose weight can be so frustrating and create a real stress in our lives. In fact, I'll go as far as saying that weight is the NUMBER ONE stress for many women I know.

If this sounds familiar, don’t despair. It doesn't have to be this hard. There is usually an underlying reason to stubborn weight loss.

1. You think you’re eating healthy

I know many people who fall under this category. Does your diet consist of a massive amount of “products” i.e. protein shakes, bars, electrolyte drinks, diet soda, loaves of 1g net carb “bread”, etc? Even though some of these foods are considered “healthy”, they are still processed and contain low to no nutrition. Eating healthy is about more than just low-carb. It’s eating REAL food throughout the day that fuels the cells for energy and repair. Remember this when you’re shopping: if nature made it, eat it. If man made it, leave it ...or eat in moderation.

2. Your body needs more movement

The benefits of activity and exercise are two-part: 1) the benefit of you body exercising; and 2) the other 23 hours that your body is burning additional calories as a result of your exercise. There are ways to create more movement in unconventional ways, because "working out" doesn’t necessarily mean going to a gym.

  • Keeping busy at home, such as cleaning, involves lots of movement and muscle engagement. Bonus: your house will look great!
  • Park a distance away when you go out, so you can benefit from a brisk walk to and from your car.
  • If you have a flight of stairs or pass by one when you’re out, run/walk up them a few times and get your heart pumping.
  • During TV commercials, or every 20 mins while working at your desk, get up and do 10 push-ups, 10 burpees, or 10 reps of a muscle group using an exercise band.

According to a review published in Mayo Clinic Proceedings in 2015, engaging more often in continuous, vital movements with postural changes—even as simple as fidgeting, standing and laughing—can potentially counter the negative effects of excessive sitting.

3. Your Genes are to blame

It’s true, and you can thank your mother, father, or both parents for this!

People with certain genetic markers are more likely to be overweight or obese. This has been scientifically proven that individuals who carry the FTO gene (fat mass and obesity-associated gene), are linked to binge eating and obesity, which can then lead to type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

Every human has around 20,000 genes and FTO is one of them. When scientists looked at a large set of genetic data, they discovered that people with certain variations inside the FTO gene were likely to weigh more than people without those variations.

recent study found that people with an FTO risk variant were more likely to prefer high-fat foods, consume more calories at a meal, feel hungrier more quickly, gain fat easily, and have difficulty losing weight.

Could this be why “dieting” never worked for you?

Learning your genetic variants through a simple at-home DNA test for $99 could solve the missing puzzle piece. The sooner you know the better!

If you have an FTO risk variant and have trouble managing your weight, that’s a sign that this genetic marker may be affecting you. But it doesn't have to be your destiny, because DNA nutrition is custom formulated to support your genetic SNPs. People who have the FTO gene can benefit from supplementation with ÜFORIA Science to support a health BMI, manage cravings or eating habits and regulated metabolism.

This is so BIG!! We can now be supported by cutting edge science because our DNA knows exactly what we need.

You might ask, "can it really be that simple?" YES! It's time to put your weight struggles behind you for good! Order your ÜTRITION today!

4. You're stressed and it's affecting your health

Stress can impact your weight in a number of ways. Long term stress = high cortisol, which is linked to blood sugar imbalance and weight gain around the mid-section. Think … a stressful job, a stressful relationship, physical stress from an injury, even the daily stress of “getting everything done”.

Being conscious of how your “stress" is affecting your body is the first step, then add a few stress-reducing methods throughout the day such as: yoga, meditation, more sleep, less screen time, supplementing with adaptogenic herbs like ashwagandha or rhodiola, walking in nature, grounding (go barefoot outside on grass, dirt or sand), deep breathing, laughing more, movement, etc.
